Under the general supervision of the Assistant Family Services Director, the Intake Specialist is responsible for: 1) processing accurate and timely client intake information from a variety of referral sources to include, but is not limited to, Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA), other Collaboratives, community agencies, the judicial system, relatives/neighbors, schools, hospitals, and clinics; and 2) locating, compiling and producing a general listing of all community resources available in Ward eight (8). The incumbent interviews the client by face to face or telephone contact and establishes a referral to another source or creates a case. In the event that a case is established, the incumbent will follow the established intake process and distribute the case to FSFSC’s contracted Family Support Centers and/or Program Managers. He/she will provide administrative and clerical support to include, but is not limited to, completing all necessary referrals, tracking forms, emails, index cards, and letters, as well as entering data into the Efforts to Outcome (ETO) system.
EDUCATION
High School diploma
EXPERIENCE
Minimum two years of progressively responsible administrative experience. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products to include Word, Excel, Publisher, Access & projects. Microsoft certification preferred. Excellent customer services skills and familiarity with community resources. Familiarity with data collection and data keeping. Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize, prioritize work and maintain confidentiality.
