What is this role?
The IT Audit and Security Manager will be responsible for developing and executing IT General Controls for Cirkul systems as well as assisting with the design and implementation of application/functionality controls (native or configurable) and controls over data quality as well as movement. Cirkul is building out its internal control program to align with its tremendous growth as a private company and to prepare itself for potential need for future SOX compliance. This role will liaison with accounting, finance, and other business teams, including internal and external auditors and regulators, as applicable.
What does an average day look like?
- Driving Results:
- Develop IT General Controls, General Computer controls, and application controls for Cirkul and vendor hosted-systems, including access control protocols, approval, and audit processes.
- Develop a change management process for auditable systems.
- Review and document SOC and other third-party control reports for vendor software and third-party service providers.
- Taking Ownership:
- Provide management with guidance on IT risk management matters, across all IT General Controls as well as applicable privacy and security regulations.
- Ensure IT controls design, execution and related testing are all conducted in a timely manner, address key risks, and that work papers and reports are well written with meaningful observations.
- Making Decisions:
- Oversee the testing of IT General Controls to ensure controls are effectively designed and executed, that relevant information is being shared, and that communication to management is seamless for all IT control-based activities. Ensure design of IT controls for in place systems, for new system implementations, and process redesign activities. Cultivating Relationships: Build strong relationships at all levels of the organization, including office and production personnel.
- Work with owners and administrators of internal, third-party hosted and external systems as well as network and data teams to educate, guide them and effectively implement, document and test controls.
- Be persuasive and influential when communicating audit needs.
- Instilling Trust:
- Work effectively and comfortably with Internal Audit counterparts in the Finance and Accounting group.
- Advocate at all levels within the company to continuously improve awareness of IT Risk and IT Internal Controls
- Customer Focus:
- Ensure controls and audit processes are strong and represent industry best practice.
- Manage external customer, security, and IT audits with professionalism and confidence.
What background should you have?
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Systems, Audit, or a related field.
- Comprehensive understanding of internal control environments including ERP, software development, and other systems affecting the financial reports for the company.
- Significant experience either as a public accounting firm IT auditor or on the company side building, documenting and testing internal controls and interacting with internal and/or external auditors.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong Excel required

- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and completeness
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
