Position Summary: As an Organizational Development Specialist at The AZEK Company, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our rapidly expanding organization. This critical position involves fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment through strategic team building, delivering impactful training programs, overseeing AZEK’s executive development program, and providing expert organizational development (OD) consulting across the company. This role is a hybrid role, with expected time in the vibrant Fulton Market (downtown Chicago) office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Your primary duties and responsibilities will be:

- Design and implement team-building initiatives that enhance collaboration, communication, and overall team performance.
- Facilitate team-building workshops and activities tailored to various departments and teams.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of team-building programs and make necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.
- Outcome: Enhanced Employee Skills and Job Performance
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs that address the developmental needs of employees at all levels.
- Utilize a variety of training methods, including in-person workshops, e-learning, and blended learning approaches.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of current training programs and provide recommendations for enhancements. Assist in modifying, revising, and updating the content for those programs.
- Executive Development Program:
- Outcome: Improved Leadership Skills and Succession Planning
- Oversee the execution and continuous improvement of our executive development program.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to identify high-potential employees and create individualized development plans.
- Coordinate and facilitate executive training sessions, leadership workshops, and mentoring programs.
- Outcome: Effective Organizational Development and Change Management
- Partner with internal stakeholders to identify organizational development needs and provide expert consulting services.
- Conduct assessments and analyses to diagnose organizational issues and recommend strategic OD interventions.
- Support change management initiatives and facilitate smooth transitions for new managers and with new company integrations.
We believe the successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in team building, training delivery, executive development, and OD consulting within a corporate environment.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Certification/Familiarity with DiSC and Situational Leadership II, a plus.
- Proficiency in using various training and development tools and platforms.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, LMS systems, SharePoint and other business-related software.
- Ability to travel (10-25%)
Potential Challenges in this role:
- Maintaining Momentum: Sustaining the initial enthusiasm and momentum of change initiatives over the long term can be difficult. Continuous engagement and reinforcement are needed to maintain progress.
- Measuring Impact: Quantifying the impact of OD interventions can be complex. Identifying appropriate metrics and demonstrating tangible results to stakeholders is essential but challenging.
- Evaluating and Adapting Strategies: Continuous evaluation and adaptation of OD strategies to meet high growth and fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility and ongoing assessment.

Success Measures:
- Ninety (90) days:
- Complete a thorough onboarding process to understand the organization's culture, structure, and key stakeholders.
- Gain a proficient level of knowledge of AZEK’s organizational development programs.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including HR partners and business leaders.
- Partner with team members to conduct an initial assessment to identify current strengths and areas for improvement for assigned OD programs. Utilize the engagement survey to target areas where cross team communication requires improvement.
- Facilitate at least two team-building workshops or activities for different departments.
- Develop and deliver at least one comprehensive training program for employees at various levels.
- Assume responsibility for program coordination and execution of the executive development program.
- Identify and implement a few quick-win initiatives.
- Six (6) Months:
- Assess current orientation structure and modules and develop and initiate a strategy for improvement.
- Establish success measures and KPIs for OD.
- Roll-out a series of training programs addressing diverse developmental needs.
- Begin conducting training and development needs assessments and develop and deliver training programs that address the developmental needs of teams and employees.
- One (1) year:
- Achieve significant progress or completion of assigned OD initiatives.
- Ensure that assigned OD initiatives have a sustainable impact by embedding new practices and evolving the strategy, as needed.
- Demonstrate sustained improvement in team performance and communication, evidenced by performance metrics and employee surveys.
- Ensure that high-potential employees have well-defined development plans and are on track with their growth objectives.
