SR Systems Administrator– Roanoke, VA (On-site)

We are seeking an experienced systems admin to join our Roanoke team. The systems engineer will manage and administrate the network infrastructure, Microsoft servers, and Microsoft 365. Have a strong understanding of hardware and software to provide technical support, and execute projects that include firewalls, wireless access points, MDM, and a security stack of software to name a few.
Accountabilities:
· Provide support via telephone and email to diagnose and resolve problems while providing end-user assistance and resolution to issues.
· Provide support, troubleshoot, and maintain Office 365 environments.
· Escalate help-desk requests as necessary following established procedures.
· Create and maintain documentation according to departmental procedures.
· Troubleshoot and resolve routine network issues, PC/laptop, switches/hubs, routers, connectivity, and computer peripheral devices.
· Plan and implement deployment schedules for applications, patches, and service packs.
· Deployment of infrastructure improvements
Skills and Qualifications:
· Broad base of technical skills to diagnose and solve complex problems relating to hardware and software issues.
· Minimum of five years of progressive work experience in a technical support role.
· Hands-on experience and knowledge to administer Microsoft Server and Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
· Administrator experience with Email Spam Filtering Solutions and Firewalls.
· Hands-on experience working with Mobile Device Management (MDM).
· Effective interpersonal skills with all levels of staff, clients, vendors, and consultants.
· Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and demonstrated ability to work as a team player.
· Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
· Strong computer, server, and networking skills.
· Knowledge of working with open-ticket systems.
· Administrator proficiency in Windows Server Operating Systems and Microsoft 365.
· Must have a background in and knowledge of cybersecurity.
· Five plus years of experience and associate or bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field.
· Must be able to travel up to 25%.
