Service Electronics Technician

POSITION SUMMARY
Communicate with customers by telephone on a daily basis. Test, troubleshoot and repair electronic components. Perform clerical duties as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Communicate and assist customers with product questions by telephone. This function
may be 25% to 100% of the employee’s time.
· Use basic test equipment.
· Record and analyze failure data.
· Test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components from the field and within the plant.
· Responsible to learn, follow, and support the policies, procedures, and work instructions of the company’s quality system.
Occasional Duties >10%
Perform clerical duties for the service department. Complete sales transactions of service goods.
· Receive returned products.
· Initiate RGAs (returned good authorization).
· Package and ship various products to customers.

Education/Experience
Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) preferred or equivalent.
Two (2) years experience working on electronic devices at the component level.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Understanding of Basic DC and AC electricity
· Understanding of DC and AC Electronic theory
· Ability to use basic hand tools
· Able to read schematics
· Soldering and removal of electronic components
· Ability to listen and discern the customers’ problems and resolve the issues.
· Knowledge of charger battery theory and troubleshooting battery charging systems a plus
Bench Equipment
· Multimeter, oscilloscope, various test devices
Computer Skills
· Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook/Gmail)
