This position would be a member of the Counseling Department.Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to): *Oversee the Career Center and related internship and career exploration programming at the high school: match students with organizations based on interests and skills; regular monitoring of their experience*Maintain Google Classroom for students earning English credit through their full-time internships; monitor and grade weekly writing assignments; part time internship experiences have a quarterly writing reflection that is also maintained through Google Classroom.*Coordinate the high schools work study program for eligible juniors and seniors: distribute and confirm work study applications; maintain ongoing communication with employers, work study students and their families throughout the semester to ensure compliance with requirements of the program.*Maintain & update resources for student employment, internships, job shadowing, mentoring and career exploration: cultivate relationships between the high school and organization in Lincoln, Sudbury and Boston; maintain student jobs board and summer resources list. *Organize job and opportunity fair; career speaker series; opportunities for student job shadowing; informational interviews, etc.*Coordinate MassHire/Youth Connections and PreEmployment Transition Services workshops; facilitate individual and small group sessions*Collaborate with school counselors and special education liaisons to offer additional work, internship and career exploration support to students with disabilities *Conduct informal transition assessments in order to support student planning*Work individually and/or in small groups with students around pre-employment issues such as resume writing, interviewing, communication skills, networking, etc*Collaborate with school counselors to schedule military visits to the high school in collaboration with school counselor(s)*Other duties as assignedQualifications: *Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred from an accredited college or university in teaching/special education, school counseling and/or social work*Licensed, or eligible for licensure as an educator and/or school counselor and/or school social worker/adjustment counselor by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education*Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement, preferred *Excellent verbal and written communication skills*Excellent organizational/time management skills*Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and prioritize them appropriately*Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team of faculty members as well as with parentsExperience Preferred: *A minimum of three years of experience in counseling with young adults in a high school setting*Transition assessment and planning*Career counseling or vocational*Career and Technical Education (CTE), a plusLSRSD has an attractive benefits package including: health, employer sponsored Health Savings Account, dental, vision, long-term disability, life insurance, 403(b), Dependent Care Account, Flexible Spending Accounts and participation in retirement boards.Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
