A Civil Engineering firm is looking for Roadway Construction Inspectors for transportation projects in Greater Southern California including highways, roadways, streets, interchanges etc. Applicants should be experienced in inspection of construction projects involving roadway widening, concrete pavement, JPCP, asphalt pavement, storm water pollution control, traffic control etc. Must meet the minimum educational requirements and experiences described below.
Responsibilities include, but not limited, to the following:
- Site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications and codes
- Inspection of traffic control system compliance
- Prepare, review and provide input to contract change orders (CCO)
- Prepare daily reports
- Monitor construction schedule and review progress
- Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP) and the General Permit
- Participate in coordination meetings with clients, contractors, designers and regulatory agencies
Qualifications for Roadway Construction Inspector:
- A minimum of ten(10) years of demonstrated experience in highway or roadway construction inspection. Substantial experience in Caltrans roadway projects is required.
- High school diploma minimum; preferably AA degree; BS degree is a plus
- Effective communication skills, oral and written
- Valid California driver’s license
- PC skills including Microsoft Office
