Job Summary
The Lead Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. This position ensures the network systems meet design standards and guidelines. This position acts as the Bank’s network architect: identification, investigation and selection of new software and hardware solutions required to implement the technology strategies approved by management. Additionally, this position monitors, evaluates and performs diagnostics on the Bank’s LAN/WAN network, network related backups of configurations, DR systems, and VOIP optimization. This position is responsible for the network IT disaster recovery and related systems. The Lead Sr. Network Engineer has supervisory responsibility for other network team personnel and shall perform on-call scheduling, and manage performance, projects, and knowledge (training and certification) for network team personnel.
Essential Duties

Maintains a high-level knowledge of all network technology that supports Bank operations. This includes a comprehensive understanding of switches, routers, firewalls, and networking protocols such as BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, QoS, VOIP, and SD-WAN. Stays current on new emerging technologies that may enhance the Bank’s network design and operation.

Designs and configures advanced security solutions to help protect the Bank’s network using RSA SecurID, FortiAuthenticator, RADIUS, etc.

Ensures no rogue network devices exist without authorization via technology such as NAC.

Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation describing the network environment, including network diagrams of existing and all new designs.

Develops and supports disaster recovery procedures and plans for network and application fail over.

Develops and implements wiring configuration standards, network hardware, network software, network monitoring and capacity management systems, and LAN/WAN/WLAN security and backup systems.

Analyzes system and application usage and plans for growth or increases in network capacity.

Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, IP address and subnet assignment documentation, and related licensing and support contracts.

Monitors the incident ticket queue for ISS network team and ensures timely responses and resolution to problems or incidents. Supervises network team members’ ticket responses and ensures that tickets are being handled within SLAs. Serves as ultimate escalation point for network tickets at the Bank.

Performs advanced troubleshooting of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services. Documents the resolution in the ticketing system.

Designs and configures complex switching and routing designs.

Designs and configures complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications.

Assists in the design of redundant multi-server cluster environments including IP address schemes, DNS, Ether-Channel (Bonding), etc.

Monitors the Bank’s network to maintain its security, soundness, and availability.

Ensures that current and future data centers are well maintained, connected, and ensure the network documentation is in line with compliance, audit, and management requirements.

Responsible for timely and complete Change Control documentation and delegation of implementation tasks

Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of the ISS network team
Essential Duty – On Call Management Support
Infrastructure Shared Services management will be responsible for providing the on-call schedule to their team on a monthly cadence and will ensure that there is sufficient coverage for after-hours support. They will act as an escalation point for Infrastructure Shared Services technicians and may provide support after hours in the event additional resources are required. Those in a supervisory role must ensure that the cell phones are on and available in the event of support call or outage alert via text message. Management is expected to be available to respond to critical situations, even on a non-scheduled workday.
