Position Summary:
Operations Analyst utilizes their experience to assist the Head of Securities Operations in completing the daily duties of the team in a professional and control orientated manner. This team is responsible for ensuring the accurate and complete allocations of clients’, broker and trading desk trading activity. The team is also responsible for managing accuracy and balancing of firm’s books and records, and ensuring timely and successful settlement of trades.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Manage top-day trade allocations for full service and execution-only trades, ensure client allocation requirements are met and the T+ statement generation is accurate, as well as interface with internal and external constituents to manage trade flow.

Handle inquiries from clients and internal departments related to positions, trades and related areas.

Identify breaks, mispricing, and other booking issues.

Address any issues arising from allocation issues, balancing breaks, unclaimed trades, changes or corrections.

Reconcile books (including trades, positions, and balances) against exchanges, prime brokers and other counterparties.

Ensure timely and successful settlement of all securities with counterparties.

Maintain static data within various systems.

Work with other departments including Sales, Finance, Accounting and Compliance to resolve potential problems.

Communicate with exchanges, brokers, internal and external clients, Legal and Compliance, Technology, and Risk.

Understand the importance of following define procedure and completing the appropriate checklists.
Qualifications:
-
Previous experience with securities trade flow cycle, allocations and reconciliations is preferred.

Undergraduate degree in finance or related field is preferred.

Knowledge and understanding of financial instruments including equities, options and bonds is desired.

Knowledge and experience of middle and back-office functions preferred.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Proficiency in math, analytical troubleshooting skills and data entry is required.

Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, persuasively, and confidently with all levels within organization both written and verbally is required.

A strong interpersonal skill with the ability to work alone or as part of a team is required.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines is required.

Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.
