Pediatrics RN – Long term contract - National Institute of Health, Bethesda, MD

SHIFT: Schedule is full time Day/Night rotation with a combination of 4/8/12 hr shifts with weekends and holidays as needed - Must be flexible to work a rotating shift.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE REGISTERED NURSE (RN):
- Min. 2-3 yrs in Acute Care Hospital in Emergency Room or Pediatrics
- Previous travel experience a plus or Hematology/Oncology but not required
- Possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any of the 50 States, DC, or U.S. Territories.
Duties
- Previous bedside nursing experience desired; Pediatrics or PICU experience preferred
- Chemotherapy certified or willingness to become certified
Assess (acutely and chronically ill children), plan, evaluates, documents total nursing process
- Organized, self-motivated with exceptional follow-through skills
- Computer skills necessary 40wpm; EMR EPIC documentation
- Multi-task constantly and tolerate multiple interruptions
- Clear and effective communication with pedi patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to connect and communicate with children Compassionate customer service skills
