THE ORGANIZATION
Greenlight Family Services is a small non-profit child welfare agency specializing in adoption, guardianship, and counseling services. Greenlight provides post adoption services to families who have adopted a child who was previously in the Illinois foster care system. Post adoption services strengthen families by providing them with the support of qualified and licensed social workers. Families are connected with resources meant to aid in adoption preservation.
THE POSITION
Greenlight is looking for a licensed therapist to join the team. The person hired for this position will provide short term clinical services to families within Greenlight’s Post Adoption program. These clinical services may temporarily address grief and loss, behavioral issues, feelings about change and disruption, and more. Services are meant to be short term while the family makes other arrangements, and will be provided at the client’s home. Visits will occur in the Chicagoland area.
The ideal candidate will have past clinical experience, and an established comfort level interacting with diverse families, DCFS caseworkers and attorneys. They must be confident, work well under pressure, and be able to formulate quick, coherent, and professional responses. The candidate should be a self-starter who is able to work independently and have great writing and organizational skills.
THE LOCATION
The clinician hired for this position will work 20 hours per week and maintain a hybrid work schedule. One eight (8) hour day per week will be worked on-site at Greenlight’s Main office located in the Bridgeport neighborhood at 3636 S Iron St, Chicago, IL 60609. The remaining 12 hours will be worked remotely either from home or in the field.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide short term clinical services
- Maintain consistent case notes
- Correspond with clients, case managers, coworkers, and others
- Travel to home visits (Chicagoland area)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree specializing in clinical services
- Licensed professional
- Child Welfare experience (at least two years preferred)
- Clinical experience (at least three years preferred)
- CERAP and CWEL preferred
- Writing skills (must be able to write proficiently and professionally)
- Must have a car
