Position Summary
The Development Coordinator reports to the Associate Vice President of Development and works closely with the development team, the Chief Growth Officer, board members and other staff to ensure the successful execution of assignments and projects. This position is an essential member of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s Development team in the Office of Engagement and supports the operation that cultivates and raises funds from individuals, corporations and foundations. The Development Coordinator will work in a fast-paced, multi-functioning environment and provide superior customer service internally and externally. This role is data-driven and demands a strong writing ability, high attention to detail, and a passion for data. The Development Coordinator is responsible for tracking donor interactions, fundraising metrics, and the management of prospects through the CRM system.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the Moves Management process to ensure all high-capacity prospects and donors are assigned a primary manager for continuous qualifying and disqualifying potential for major giving.- Screen databases to monitor and identify major donors needing wealth screenings, high cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation.
- Serve as a resource to all front-line fundraisers, monitoring open funding opportunities, opportunity stages, reports and dashboards, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of donor data.
- Work with the Engagement Ops team to support accurately recording donor interactions, donor correspondence, impact reports, stewardship, etc., in Salesforce.
- Coordinate donor and prosecuting events, manage timelines and budgets, design invitations, and develop invitation lists.
- Maintain the CRM system/donor base, including maintenance, gift entry, and reporting.
- Draft donor correspondence, gift acknowledgments, solicitation appeals, funding proposals, grant applications, annual reports etc.
- Responsible for increasing donor involvement through personalized outreach and engagement initiatives, such as increased donation levels, greater donor attendance at organizational events.
- Prepare meeting briefs and prospect profiles and coordinate meeting logistics.
- Any other duties needed to help drive our Vision and fulfill our Mission.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred or at least two years of experience supporting a fundraising team.- Donor research and/or database analysis experience preferred.
- Proven success in implementing effective fundraising strategies to meet goals.
- Strong communication skills, engaging with donors, stakeholders, and community members to convey mission and values. Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
- Self-motivator and self-starter with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency with donor management software and CRM systems such as Salesforce and the suite of Microsoft Office tools and software.
- Ability to collaborate well with people at all levels of an organization.
- A high degree of professionalism, leadership and congeniality to reflect the ATC brand positively.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Limited travel (occasionally to ATC offices, regional or fundraising events, and staff meeting sites).- Flexibility to work extended hours during peak season or special event periods.
- Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Required to attend any in-person events or meetings, including staff retreat once a year.

Full-Time position average of 35 hours a week.

Hourly Rate: ($24.04 - $26.44)
