ReCognition Health’s clinics are major centers for international trials of disease-modifying drugs for Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological conditions.
The ideal individual is a dedicated clinical practitioner with experience in cognitive and/or neurological diseases and clinical research. This position is full-time, working 5 days per week (M-F) in the Fairfax, Virginia clinic from 9 am to 5 pm. RESPONSIBILITIES
The Clinical Trials Coordinator role will be responsible for the set up and delivery of all clinical trials according to RCH governance, operational, financial and developmental strategies, and in compliance with Good Clinic Practice (GCP) principles. Additional responsibilities include:
· Organize, coordinate, and manage the clinical trials, including clinical trials participants, any external vendors.
· Create CRFs per-study guidelines
· Work closely with Recruitment in team to successfully complete enrolment for each study.
· Work closely with and manage the clinical trial team of Graders and Clinical Trial Administrators
· Responsible for planning each visit as required by study protocol.
· Carry out all activities with regard to Good Clinical Practice
· Accountable for ICH-GCP compliance across all assigned studies
· Assist in the preparation for any Sponsor, CRO and regulatory audits and inspections
· Ensure that the highest levels of patient care and clinical delivery are maintained at all times
· Responsible for the training and compliance requirements of the clinical trials team
· Work closely with the Clinical Trials Administrator and Grader to ensure that data entry is completed accurately and in a timely manner
· Ensure that all patient records are accurate, stored appropriately and all confidential information is retained in accordance with data protection requirements
· Seek feedback from patients on their experience, record these findings and analyse to support the ongoing development of the trials
· Perform internal audits of working practices to measure compliance against company SOPs and GCPs as and when required
· Develop external patient identification sites to create ongoing sources of eligible patients
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
· Life sciences or medical/health-related degree
· At least 2 years of experience within clinical trials research
· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Experience with electronic data capture (EDC) systems
· Experience with Phlebotomy, Blood sample processing
· Experience with collection of EKGs
· Detail oriented self-starter able to plan and prioritize own workload
· Professional and caring manner towards patients, visitors, and colleagues, projecting a high quality and high service experience
· High ethical standard in line with company policies and procedures
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver services effectively
· Must undertake all training and certification required by Pharma
· Safe handling of data and records, per HIPAA requirements
· Excellent communication skills
HIGHLY DESIRABLE:
· MD, DO or foreign trained doctor
· Previous experience as a Clinical Trials Coordinator in a similar field within the private health sector
· Background in neurology
