Telecom Analyst: ideal candidates will have had previous experience in a job where the majority of their day supporting telephone systems for corporations (programing, troubleshooting, adding/deleting user access, training users etc) corporate Telecom system needs. You will be working onsite Mon-Fri in Binghampton, NY.
Main Duties
Work directly with Clinical teams to plan, program, coordinate and integrate nurse call systems and clinical alarms to staff specific devices.
Train users on the appropriate use of the hardware devices and software applications
Perform problem determination for the systems. Work with the appropriate vendor and I.S. technical personnel to troubleshoot and resolve problem.
Coordinate installation of software patches/fixes
Equipment Used:
PBX, key systems, servers, microcomputers, and paging system
Software Used:
Report generators, editors, spreadsheets, word processors, data base languages, cost accounting software, paging system software.
Contacts:
Communicate with telephone and pager users on all levels. Has direct contact with Information Services engineering staff and telephony vendors and their technical support staffs. Must be capable of establishing good rapport with all.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift and carry all types of equipment. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, pull and push.
Essential Duties:
- Support and Program: Manage and support Spōk Enterprise Communication systems, Vocera wireless badges, Tapit Nova, Avaya systems, Skype for Business, and more.
- Implement and Test: Oversee software updates, coordinate with vendors, and ensure seamless installation and integration.
- Train and Document: Develop user guides, train staff on new technologies, and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Consult and Collaborate: Work with clinical teams and other departments to integrate telecommunications solutions effectively.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve: Act as a key problem solver for telecommunications issues, working closely with vendors and technical teams.
- Security and Reporting: Manage user access, produce reports, and maintain database dictionaries.

Education/Experience:
- Ideal candidate will have 2-year degree in telecommunications or related field with experience working with Nortel/Avaya PBX systems preferred.
- Certifications or additional experience can be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Strong working knowledge of client & server hardware and software, especially Microsoft products (Windows OS, MS Office 365).
- Excellent communication skills and a pleasant personality.
- Previous customer service experience is required.
