Purpose of the job: Maintenance/Electrical Tech
To assist the Maintenance supervisor with day-to-day duties
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Including but not limited to: adjusting, dismantling, installing, maintaining, optimizing, overhauling, and repairing machinery/ equipment
- Completing work orders in a specific time allowance
- Providing mechanical knowledge to/ and assist in troubleshooting of food process machinery
- Identifying, developing, assisting, and implementing improvements on food process machinery
- Testing and performing quality control on food processing machinery/ equipment
- Performing routine maintenance on food processing machinery
- Supporting other maintenance department employees with their job duties if necessary
- Attending/ responding to food process machinery breakdowns in an adequate, effective and efficient manner
- Performing diagnostics for food processing machinery to identify problems, and to resolve the problems found
- Must be a hands-on person with knowledge of both mechanical and electrical aspects of job.
- Following, interpreting, and understanding blueprints/ layouts to complete assigned duties
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Highschool diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Trade’s certificate/Diploma, preferably industrial electrician or instrumental mechanical
- Working level proficiency in the English Language
- 2-3 years or more experience performing job duties as a millwright in a food or dairy processing company
- Good knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting of food processing machinery
- Ability to cope with stress
- Ability to interpret and understand blueprints
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to understand processes
- Ability to use manual/ power tools in a safe manner
- Ability to work: alone/ around others/ with others
- PLC Knowledge
- Electrical Troubleshooting
- Multi Meter use
- Programming VFD’s
- Checking Motors
