General Information about position and Chalk Couture: Chalk Couture is a well established, omni channel, DIY and crafting company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Head of HR to join our team. This position would report directly to the CEO and will work closely with the executive and management teams.This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations within Chalk Couture. We are looking for a strategic leader who can align HR initiatives with the company's overall goals and objectives, while also fostering a positive and inclusive work culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Planning: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company's objectives and promote employee engagement, retention, and development.
- Talent Acquisition and Management: Lead the recruitment and onboarding processes to attract top talent, while also implementing effective retention strategies. A major focus here is the recruiting, screening and onboarding of our flex team. Conduct market analysis’ to ensure fair and consistent evaluations and career development opportunities for employees.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted resource for employees and management on HR-related issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Compensation and Benefits: Manage compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance with legal requirements. Regularly review and update policies to reflect best practices and market trends. Meet with employees annually to review total compensation and ensure alignment with the market.
- Training and Development: Design and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities, promote career growth, and support succession planning efforts. Work with managers to ensure that they have the tools to coach, mentor, and provide feedback to direct reports in 1:1 meetings, annual performance reviews, and in disciplinary meetings.
- HR Compliance: Stay informed about relevant employment laws and regulations and ensure company compliance at all levels. Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures to mitigate risks and promote a positive work environment. Handle all required reporting to applicable agencies within a timely manner.
- HRIS maintenance: Ensure that all employee files, details, changes, etc. are accurate and up to date within Bamboo HR.
- Company Culture: Demonstrate core values in day to day activities, communications and personal interaction. Plan and implement company activities to enhance company morale, cultivate positive relationships, and create an atmosphere of inclusion and value.
- Other: Handle administrative needs for the office including but not limited to: purchasing of office supplies, soda, snacks, etc., owning the relationship with the cleaning staff, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is highly desirable.
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Experience managing and negotiating with outside vendors.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that drive business results.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is a plus.
