Performs accounting duties which require exercise of independent judgment and thorough knowledge of general ledger and cost accounting activities. Must be able to analyze and present information to Senior Management of the plant and division. Responsible for Sarbanes Oxley compliance within Inventory and General Accounting areas of the business.
Essential Functions
- Determines product cost for accuracy on closed jobs.
- Prepares and analyzes inventory reserves.
- Maintains accurate inventory valuation and reviews cycle count adjustments.
- Analyzes and investigates production cost variances.
- Provides analytical support to the operations team.
- Prepares weekly and monthly managerial and cost accounting reports for management review.
- Assists with month-end closing processes, maintains the general ledger, generates monthly journal entries, and reconcile accounts.
- Prepares and analyze financial statements and internal reports and provide summaries and recommendations to management regarding financial activities.
- Maintains and reconciles the daily flex, as well as flex detail and support to area supervisors as needed.
- Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Provides financial analysis and reporting on results and trends of operations.
- Assists with creating budgets, forecasts, and activity rates.
- Develops a strong understanding of the Financial and ERP systems and the ability to data-mine to provide answers to complex questions.
- Effectively manages facility excess and obsolete calculations and develops action plans with operations to reduce aged inventory.
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and coordination with team members, coworkers, production staff, and management.
- Reviews and improves daily processes and tasks to expedite and improve workflow.
- Performs job functions with minimal supervision.
- Provides audit support through the generation of timely, accurate schedules and documents.
- Assists with SOX compliance and reporting.
Education and Experience
Must have a minimum 5 years of general or cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment and a B.S./B.A. degree in Accounting or equivalent.
Special Skills
- Must have a general knowledge of financial and quantitative analysis techniques, management accounting, cost accounting, and management information systems.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to think and work with moderate supervision.
- Able to demonstrate a high attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office applications. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel preferred.
- Proven analytical, problem solving, and process improvement ability.
- Experience with ERP systems for general accounting and consolidation purposes.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to successfully manage many issues/projects simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all levels of management.
For informational purposes only, the range for hourly base pay for this role is $88,000 to $110,900.00 based on a variety of factors. Also, for informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1.5x the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter.
