Maintenance Controller
The Maintenance Controller reports to the Director of Maintenance and is responsible for operational and dispatch technical support of Aircraft ‘in service’ and related equipment.
The Maintenance Controller is a person that is considered directly in charge and is responsible for the maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alteration, of personnel performing these functions on Company Aircraft and does not need to physically observe and direct each worker performing maintenance on World Atlantic Airlines Aircraft constantly but will be available for consultation and decision on matters requiring instructions or decisions from higher authority than that of the person(s) performing the work.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Providing:
(1) 24 hour representation for the Director of Maintenance,
(2) Support for the minute-to-minute operation of the Company fleet,
(3) Support for Aircraft operational decisions
(4) A central point of contact to coordinate Aircraft maintenance by mechanics, and other authorized personnel at all locations, ensuring full compliance with Policies and Procedures.
(5) Advise line maintenance personnel of known or possible trouble items affecting inbound Aircraft so that the preparatory steps for corrective action may be taken.
b. All items turned over as incomplete shall be on the turnover report. 14 CFR 121.369(b)9
c. Administer and manage the (DMI) deferred maintenance item program.
d. Ensure that all work documents, Placards, and Log Book entries are complete and correct as per Federal Aviation Regulations and the GMM before release of the Aircraft.
e. Monitor engine oil consumption daily using log Page oil information.
f. Ensure that Company Aircraft are not dispatched on a flight that will exceed inspection “Due Time” in accordance with Operation Specifications D089.
g. Monitor field repairs and coordinates work crews.
h. Coordinate AOG parts requirements,
i. Give technical support to field crews,
j. Lead, direct, train and/or approve the work of assigned Maintenance Representatives and mechanics.
k. Coordinate with stations and maintenance personnel for logistics including travel, lodging, and ground transportation and escort.
l. Notify the Director of Maintenance or the Director of Quality, via verbal and written reports, of unusual incidents involving any Company Aircraft (in-flight engine shutdowns, accidents, incidents, etc.)
m. Fill out and distribute Form GMM – 4296 ‘Out Of Service’ report for any Maintenance Delay.
n. Maintain a current listing of ‘out of service’ (OOS) Aircraft status and provide ETIC (Estimated Time in Commission) information as required.
o. Complete the DMI Status Report, Daily Mechanical Delay Summary, Repetitive Item Reports and have copies forwarded to the Director of Quality, the Director of Maintenance, and Flight Operations by 0800 Monday thru Friday.
p. Remain current on Manual Procedures, Aircraft systems and modifications, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and industry activities.
q. Coordinate movement of Maintenance Representatives (travel arrangements) as directed by the Director of Maintenance.
r. Ensure the use of the Shift Turnover Log within the department for any special work projects and adequate Turnover on any work in progress on Company Aircraft. 14 CFR 121.369(b)(9) s. Assure adequacy, serviceability and appearance of his/her assigned equipment, facilities, and working area. In particular, he will ensure the work area is kept in a clean and orderly manner.
t. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.

Qualifications
a. Hold a valid FAA Mechanics’ Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings With Airworthiness release Authorization. 14 CFR 121.378 (a)
b. Must have formal classroom training to include, DC-9 / MD-80 Familiarization Training.
c. Company Required Inspection Item (RII) training and authorization.
d. Company ‘Airworthiness Release’ training and authorization. e. Company RVSM training.
f. Must meet requirements set forth in “MAINTENANCE POLICY” on page 2-1.

Pay: $38.00 - $45.00 per hour
