Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Director of Property Management & Finance to oversee our property management office and financial operations.
Schiffman Enterprises, a personal holding company with interests primarily in Southern California high-end, corporate retail, commercial real estate, is seeking an honest, self-motivated and highly dependable person willing to oversee the company’s property management office, often alone, located at Doheny and Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.
Qualified candidates need to be capable of passing federal security clearances/background checks, and/or drug tests, often required by insurers, to ensure the company’s financial security since qualified candidates will be responsible for handling the company’s mail, online banking, transactions, transfers, financial receipts, deposits and checking accounts.
Qualified candidates need to have a commercial real estate background demonstrating a history of ethical and honest dependable work experience in property management and finance. Specifically financial and property management operations and procedures, office organization, technology and professional communications. The ability to deal with stress and emergencies would also help.
In addition to property management experience, qualified candidates should be precision-oriented full charge bookkeepers with basic spreadsheet abilities, reliable financial software skills, ability to maintain the accounts, and be able to audit and analyze financial records to identify issues and propose solutions, including property management reports and spreadsheets.

Parking and security are provided. Independent and entrepreneurial types who enjoy working solo, or for themselves, should excel in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Office communications, scanning information for digital storage and distribution, and organizing office filing and digital record-keeping
- Bookkeeping such as bank reconciliations, payables, receivables, budgeting, personal financial statements, month and year-ends, CAM reconciliations, checks, and other banking and financial reporting requirements
- Use Excel, Word, Buildium and other software to update websites and spreadsheets for daily, weekly, monthly and annual reporting
- Report to banks, lenders, tenants, and governments, including preparing CPA tax organizer
- Analyze leases, contracts, insurance, financial reports, and other operational issues as needed by owner or CEO
Requirements/Skills:
- At least 10 years of consistent, dependable, property management and financial experience required
- Responsible for adherence to management, partnership, and vendor agreements
- Review all invoices for proper approval prior to making payments
- Review and approve monthly operating expense reports for all properties
- Prepare accurate monthly reports for management and property owners
- Yardi, Buildium, or similar property management accounting software experience or a willingness to learn Buildium
- Oversee monthly/quarterly filings and yearly tax return prep, periodic governmental filings, registrations, business and tax licenses, etc.
- Work with the owner and CEO to ensure financial directives are followed
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing while possessing a basic ability to supervise personnel, if necessary, now or in the future
- Assess current financial operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
- General technical skills related to IT and security
- Other duties that arise during the normal course of business

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $61,434.97 - $82,416.30 per year
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
