Project Manager Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to oversee and manage ship repair projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Project Manager Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for ship repair and maintenance projects. Coordinate all project activities to ensure efficient execution and alignment with client expectations.
- Client Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain regular communication to provide updates on project progress, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Resource Management:
- Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements and timelines. Manage subcontractors and vendors as necessary.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that all work meets industry standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure safety and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Budget Oversight:
- Monitor project expenditures and manage project budgets to ensure financial objectives are met. Prepare cost estimates and proposals for new projects as needed.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate project teams, including technicians, engineers, and subcontractors, to achieve project goals. Provide guidance and support to team members to enhance performance and skill development.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and project closeout documents. Prepare comprehensive reports for management and clients as required
Project Manager Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Naval Architecture, or related field. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in project management within the maritime industry, with a proven track record of successfully managing ship repair or construction projects.
- Strong understanding of ship repair processes, marine engineering, and naval architecture.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams. Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
