Weingart Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency with multiple locations throughout the Downtown Los Angeles area is hiring for a Clinician.
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Programs and Clinical Services, the Clinician will provide Weingart Center clients a range of clinical mental health services, including recovery groups, psycho-educational and therapy groups, life skills classes including anger management, conflict resolution, relationship skills, relapse prevention and individual and group counseling utilizing the Housing First, Harm Reduction and Trauma Informed Care modalities. This position will also serve as consultative resources for Weingart Center, to help develop and refine client assessment tools where needed.
As part of Weingart Center's Interim and Permanent Supportive Housing Programs, our Clinical Services team works in concert in helping provide safe, secure shelter, meals, and case management on a 24-hour basis for adults experiencing homelessness. Our multiple sites incorporates low barrier, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction policies and procedures into their program design and housing operations.
This is an on-site, in office position, and will provide clinical supervision hours to those seeking LCSW or LMFT licensures.
Weingart Center no longer requires (though highly recommends) position incumbent to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as defined and mandated by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), the Department of Health Services of Los Angeles County (DHS), and the California Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1973 (Cal/OSHA) effective August 4, 2023. However, this mandate may be reinstated at any time as recommended by these governing agencies.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
- You are experienced in substance abuse, mental health and dual diagnosis treatment and service delivery.
- You are experienced in clinical treatment, assessment, diagnosis and modalities.
- Your are experienced working with adults with disabilities.
- You are BBS registered (or in process in obtaining registration).
- You have a strong working knowledge and experience working with the formerly homeless and unhoused population, adult social services, and the welfare, legal, corrections or health care systems.
- You have working experience in case management databases such as HMIS (Clarity) and/or ICMS (CHAMP).
- You have knowledge and work experience with government agencies such as LAHSA, DHS and DMH.
- You have strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.
- You have a strong commitment to advocate effectively on behalf of low-income and/or formerly homeless clients.
- You have empathetic and have excellent listening skills.
- You have a strong ability to manage several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility in meeting deadlines and adjusting to changing priorities.
- You are a proven professional, and exhibit a manner when interfacing with professional staff, visitors and programs and services providers.
- A Master's in Social Work or Master's-level Clinical Psychology degree preferred; a BSW (Master’s eligible) or commensurate experience required.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, a plus.
Salary starts at $64,500 annually, and commensurate upon combined, related experience, educational level and bilingual fluency.
