The Plant Health Technician Plays a crucial role in our mission to produce the highest quality
roses by monitoring, testing and measuring various metrics within the growing process. This
ensures that the prerequisites for plant health are continually met and allows our nursery
stock to be up to shippable standards at all times. We’re in search of a motivated, organized,
and autonomous individual adept at following both oral and written directions. This person
should take ownership over their position and provide a strong supporting role for the Plant
Health team.
Primary responsibilities:
● Assist with pest and disease scouting to document pest and disease thresholds
throughout the facility
● Assist with soil and water testing to ensure soil fertility and water are optimal
● Input data collected throughout the nursery into scouting logs to assist in the
organization and record-keeping of plant health related processes
● Provide support to the Assistant Grower for shipments to tissue culture, universities,
and testing facilities
● Assist in the release of beneficial insects throughout the facility
● Conducts chemical and fertilizer applications via a high pressure sprayer
● Operates company truck to pick up essential items required for the plant health
operations
● Assist with irrigation, plant maintenance, and stock field operations.
● Operates nursery equipment including but not limited to hedge trimmers, RTV’s
Tractors Mowers, Weed Whackers and pump sprayers.
Qualifications/Abilities:
● 1-2 years nursery experience or related field is required
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
● Ability to lift push or pull up to 50 pounds
● Drivers license and authorization to work in the US
