Primary Function: This position oversees and executes on retail requirements to ensure customer needs are met, service is thorough, sales are expanded appropriately, and continuity of communication is achieved. The District Manager trains and oversees an assigned Z.T. Distribution, Inc. Retail Team on ordering and merchandising methods, sales and marketing techniques, and equipment usage. They also partner with other managers to meet the company goal of maximizing productivity and profitability.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Management:
- Responsible for the performance of the Retail Team within an assigned region.
- Supervises all retail activities by developing, maintaining, and executing on databases and reports related to zone assignments, scheduling, and staffing of retail and merchandising personnel within their assigned region
- Performs functions including initial and ongoing training (i.e. sales, ordering, display execution, merchandising, equipment, etc.), quarterly and annual goal setting, performance evaluations and feedback, and employee relations. Completes and submits all paperwork for these items to Human Resources on a timely basis
- Works with management to create monthly company sales goals for their team and achieves these with action-planning as needed
- Approves and schedules Paid/Unpaid Time off for their team and covers the territory for the employee during their absence
- Communicates with staff on a daily basis to support a fully engaged workforce and understanding of individual and company goals – including participation in weekly sales conference calls
- Keeps the Retail Team Director and Human Resources staff aware of any employee issues or needs
- Works to control operating and labor costs associated with all areas of Z.T. Distribution, Inc. in their responsibility; has primary responsibility for any inventory stales or unsaleables within their assigned market
- Establishes proper practices to ensure the safety of all Z.T. Distribution, Inc. employees and customers District Manager
- Evaluates geographical markets and secures new accounts; assesses potential opportunity including the appropriate products for store size and traffic, and achievement of minimum standards for service and delivery Manages product sales/introduction to retail locations of current customer base
- Oversees and is ultimately responsible for the sales within their assigned region, delegates or executes on the following:
- Store Resets
- Promotional Execution including, but not exclusive to, display building and surveys
- Voids are filled for both new products and out of stocks
- New items are introduced, placed, and accurate pricing tags are obtained
- Inventory is appropriate and available for upcoming product demonstrations
- Ordering and back stock are appropriate for the store volume
- Expedites products to satisfy customer immediate needs
- Customer complaints addressed
- Acts as a role model and mentor
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience/Educational Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent in a related field
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a Zone Sales Representative role
- 5 years of experience with food product distribution preferred
- 5 years of experience directly supervising staff preferred
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License and acceptable driving record Additional Qualifications: Proven track record of managing for increased productivity and profitability Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organization skills Ability to react decisively and appropriately Attention to detail and work quality Basic understanding of financial reports Ability to read and speak English

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
