ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Must be able to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and the public.
Will provide adult guidance and discipline when necessary to ensure safety of students and property.
Enforce all building/district rules and policies, specifically, closed campus policy and all parking lot regulations.
Duties may also include some or all of the following:
- Supervise and engage with students during Lunch recess.
- Assist with playground management by reinforcing positive behavior and redirecting disruptive behavior when necessary.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and clean playground environment.
- Foster a positive and inclusive playground environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Foster social interactions among students and facilitate the development of appropriate social skills. This can be achieved by organizing group activities that encourage collaboration and communication, thereby promoting positive social interactions and enhancing social skills.
- Actively engage with students and address minor behavioral concerns.
- Try to anticipate problem situations and student needs
- Circulate in the designated areas while monitoring safe play.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Dependable work record.
Positive and friendly work attitude.
Ability to get along and communicate well with staff, students, and parents.
Ability to work with a minimum direct supervision by administration and/or faculty members.
Ability to be diplomatic but firm with students.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
