Description:
6am-2:30pm/Full Time/ 40 Hours
Laundry Worker personnel have the shared responsibility to help stop HAIs, bacteria and viruses from spreading and make a difference in every patient and healthcare workers lives.

Prepares clean linen for use in the hospital and/or inspects, separates, classifies, and collects soiled linen.

Follows infection control and universal precautions procedures when handling soiled linen.

Takes the necessary precautions, in keeping with OSHA standards and other applicable federal and state regulations, when working with hazardous chemicals and materials and power equipment.

Uses personal protective equipment as required.

Fills orders and ensures that linen supplies are available at all times.

Inventories linen and counts items on exchange carts returned to laundry from hospital or returned from laundry to hospital.

Assists the laundry driver to pull or push loaded carts (up to 500 pounds) on or off the truck to designated areas. Maintains accurate itemized inventory records and completes laundry forms as necessary.

Maintains assigned work areas and supplies.

Sorts bagged linen onto appropriate receiving carts.

Separates soiled linen into designated classifications according to established guidelines.

Cleans, maintains, and replenishes linen exchange carts in an orderly manner.

Inspects linens for defects such as holes, tears, or worn areas. Removes debris from linen such as tape, staples, and lint. Uses chemicals as prescribed for cleaning linen items.

Responds to requests in a courteous manner.

Folds, stacks and may wrap and appropriately label linen items to prepare for distribution to using areas. May assist in the collection of soiled linens and/or the distribution of clean linens. Conforms at all times to standards of personal and professional conduct as required by Hospital I Am Emory Policy for Guest and Employee Relations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions.
