Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. Your role will involve implementing individualized education plans, collaborating with other educators and professionals, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet the unique learning needs of each student
- Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, life skills, and social-emotional development
- Utilize behavioral therapy techniques to support students' behavioral health and promote positive behaviors
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to address students' specific needs
- Use learning technology and assistive devices to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
- Employ effective classroom management strategies to create a safe and supportive learning environment
- Monitor student progress, assess their strengths and areas for improvement, and provide ongoing feedback
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for support
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in special education
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with behavioral challenges or developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of curriculum development principles and ability to adapt instructional materials
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies for supporting positive behaviors
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and other professionals

Pay: $62,500.00 - $70,000.00 per year
