Summary
Designs and prepares 2D drawings for projects on device, equipment, utilities and buildings. Performs engineering research and development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Design new devices, new equipment and new utility piping system with Autodesk Inventor for manufacturing process and equipment needs.
- Prepare equipment turn-over packages which include equipment function, operating procedure, components drawing, pneumatic diagram, major components PO, recommended maintenance procedure, spare parts list, and product contact material certs.
- Modify existing equipment to improve machine performance and reliability.
- Update existing engineering drawings to ensure they are up to date with 2D AutoCAD. Update and maintain equipment manual and engineering documents.
- Troubleshoot the machine mechanical problem with electrical engineers.
- Evaluate and prepare user requirements when purchasing new equipment.
- Perform factory acceptance test, start up and set up new equipment.
- Train technicians for new machine operation and setup.
- Technical support for Validation department, production and Maintenance department.
- Review and recommend changes to improve manufacturing processes.

Education and/or experience:
Minimum Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering; and minimum four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiences.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra and advanced statistical theory.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
