The Chattanooga Area Food Bank (CAFB) is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented individual to join our dedicated team, build relationships, and execute a comprehensive volunteer engagement strategy. Serving twenty counties with two locations in Chattanooga and one in Dalton, the Chattanooga Area Food Bank’s mission is to lead a network of partners and unite the community to eliminate hunger by feeding, nourishing, and empowering those we serve.
Job Description:
The Volunteer Coordinator provides critical engagement support & resources for working effectively with volunteers, donors, and key stakeholders. With a structured approach to volunteerism that includes strategies and tools for designing the program and recruiting, training, retaining and recognizing volunteers, the Volunteer Coordinator will ensure the Food Bank has the quality help needed, and deepen support in our communities
Job Responsibilities Include:
· Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and the development team in the successful development and implementation of both short and long term strategic department goals that match the CAFB’s vision, mission, values, and budgetary requirements.
· Create a strong volunteer engagement program maximizing organizational success that includes recruiting, training, retaining, and recognizing volunteers and helping them thrive with our region.
· Create, maintain, and update effective volunteer orientation & handbook.
· Provide excellent customer service to all volunteers by establishing and maintaining exemplary interactions.
· Create opportunities for volunteer appreciation and recognition.
· Create a system for retaining, tracking, and reporting volunteers.
· Ensure all volunteers have an engaging, productive, safe, and fun volunteer shift.
· Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
· Superior organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
· Keen attention to detail.
· High energy, self-starter.
The volunteer coordinator will work collaboratively with staff members, volunteers, donors, and key stakeholders to fully execute the mission of the Food Bank. This position will require you to work at events which may be on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
