Overview:
We are seeking a Development Analyst to facilitate affordable housing development by assisting Project Managers in all development activities to bring life-changing housing to low-income residents. The Development Analyst will participate in and at times take the lead on various development activities on a variety of projects including: 1) sourcing projects via partnerships, RFPs and acquisitions; 2) driving projects to closing, balancing complex affordable financing structures and multiple stakeholders; 3) and ensuring that projects are both beneficial to their community and residents and financially profitable and viable.
The Development Analyst works cooperatively together with our in-house team members in development and construction and with third-party experts such as architects and engineers to assist in all the key elements of affordable housing development.
Duties:
- Assist with preparing and tracking predevelopment costs and budgets, compare to prior deals.
- Review underwriting and coordinate cash flow and budgets with actual or estimated costs and terms provided by government bodies, investors, or lenders.
- Seek out and complete RFP and RFQs for new projects aligning with MDG's strengths.
- Prepare reports and presentations as needed to communicate with clients and community stakeholders.
- Assist Project Managers with determining scope of work and specs with architect and engineers and coordinate pricing.
- Provide support with creating and adhering to timeline outlining the development project and tracking design, funding and construction milestones.
- Attend industry networking and/or training events.
- Attend and assist with company events such as ground-breaking or ribbon cuttings.
- General administrative tasks such as printing drawings, legal documents, presentations, or proposals.
- Participate in project calls and take notes to memorialize and track discussion topics.
- On occasion may be required to work outside of the office at project sites to perform tasks such as taking photos, meeting residents, handing out documents or to deliver a proposal to a perspective client.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in real estate, Master/Grad Degree a plus.
- 6 months to 1 year of real estate or relevant experience.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook-Calendar.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication and outstanding customer service skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, self-motivated and have the ability to prioritize tasks and projects with time constraints and limited direction.
- Be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.
- Must be a good culture fit: professional presence, open-minded, positive attitude and a team player.
- Have experience handling sensitive and confidential information and material.

Pay: $21.63 - $32.96 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
