St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking an full time Performance Improvement RN. Under the supervision of the Director of Quality and Accreditation, or authorized designee, is responsible for chart abstraction, reporting of quality performance indicators, monitoring internal performance in comparison to norms and standards approved and by the Medical Staff, The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services (CMS), Professional Review Organization(s) and other entities. Responsible for referring quality and/or performance concerns to the Director of Quality and Accreditation. Responsible for reviewing chart abstraction for any performance variation that may require referral to Medical Staff Peer Review Coordinator, Risk Management, and/or other medical center leadership.
Requirements:
A minimum of three - five years medical/surgical experience in an acute care hospital.
Knowledge of database applications, spreadsheet design; and knowledge of report writing software. Must possess knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and health sciences necessary to screen criteria in medical records. Must be knowledgeable of TJC and CMS guidelines and requirements for performance of ongoing system monitoring. Requires good written and oral communication skills, ability to learn quickly, appropriate problem solving ability, computer skills and possess good interpersonal skills.
