Position: Part Time Sales Associate

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Retail Thrift Store Associate to join our team. This role position is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our thrift store, which supports our community initiatives. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainability, have a keen eye for detail, and possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Retail Operations:
· Assist customers with their purchases, providing exceptional customer service. o Manage cash register operations, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and balancing the till at the end of the day.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
· Sort, price, and display donated items, ensuring quality control and inventory management.
· Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the donation intake team to replenish merchandise as needed.
· Implement and follow store policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient shopping experience.
2. Volunteer Coordination:
· Provide ongoing support, guidance, and recognition to volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or volunteer management is preferred, but not required.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
· Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
· A passion for sustainability, community service, and the mission of our thrift store.
Working Conditions:
· This is a part-time position, with a schedule that may include weekends and holidays as needed.
· Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and perform tasks that require repetitive motion.
