JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director for Institutional Capacity Building Success Coach is responsible for design and delivery of capacity building, training and coaching programs designed to enhance the student retention, enrollment and re-enrollment to Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs), their staffs and other internal and external stakeholders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Strategically partners with HBCU institutional leaders and stakeholders to deliver highly effective coaching that provides tailored strategies to overcome challenges in reaching institutional growth and student success outcomes.
Deploys exceptional training and facilitation that empowers results and progress towards reaching an institution’s full potential.
Uses evidence-based, research-confirmed methodology to assess and address potential risk factors and opportunities to help institutions develop the knowledge, skills and beliefs they need to advance their retention and student success goals.
Serves as a training consultant to institutional partners as well as internal stakeholders while participating in key learning initiatives and cross-functional projects based on UNCF’s Institute for Capacity Building and Program & Services divisional priorities.
Develops strategies to meet and exceed client expectations, gather trends, develop recommendations and implementation plans to institutional leaders.
While managing coaching programs is the primary focus, a Program Director may also leverage their coaching, management, and leadership skills to deliver professional services such as manager mentoring, client training, design and lead quality assurance programs, etc.
Design, deliver, and evaluate training and coaching programs for HBCUs, PBIs and UNCF staff.
Develop and organize training materials used in training and certification programs.
Work closely with internal teams and external partners to develop training programs that are current and relevant for HBCU’s and PBI’s.
Evaluate and assess the current practices, behaviors and metrics for institutions and provide evidence-based and research-confirmed coaching.
Design, deliver and articulate robust reports that identify institutional challenges, opportunities, and pathways to success.
Stay current with higher education trends and best practices to apply them as needed to HBCUs & PBIs to enhance retention, re-enrollment, and enrollment performance metrics.
Perform related dues as requested or assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May manage other employees which include other managers; responsibility for the overall direction, and evaluation of team members in which there is direct supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years training or teaching experience, to include development and facilitation of training and or workshops.
Experience with training design & delivery.
Coaching and facilitation experience.
Written and verbal communication.
Experience working with historically underrepresented and marginalized populations.
Experience in providing student service and with developing and implementing curriculum and leadership development programs.
Experience with event planning and project management.
Experience with public speaking and group facilitation.
Standard computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite and social networking tools/platforms.
Qualifications and Skills
Ability and willingness to travel to HBCUs and PBIs across the US.
Ability to engage, challenge and support institutional leaders, teams and partners in classroom or online training.
Monitor progress towards success measures, facilitate client meetings, and provide metrics/reporting to clients and internal stakeholders.
Act as a subject matter expert on higher education and HBCUs & PBIs providing insights and trends to clients and internal stakeholders regularly.
Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds, experience levels to include executives and high-level administrators.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently and meet strict timelines.
Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to actively listen and negotiate solutions.
Excellent presentation skills, both development and delivery.
Excellent facilitation skills, including the ability to create a safe space for learning and foster learner engagement.
Ability to collect, aggregate and analyze data.
Ability to be flexible, self-motivated, excel with remote leadership, and able to make independent decisions.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel to institutional sites in other states will be required, including overnight stays. Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time, though this will not be the normal amount of travel.
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:
Knowledge of O365 with intermediate to advanced knowledge in Word and Excel. Must be proficient in mail merges and correcting source or cell errors. Must be proficient in the manipulation of Excel formulas.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Requires prolonged sitting and standing with some bending, stooping and stretching.
Requires range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and training programs with a laptop computer.
Also requires moderate to intense concentration due to complexity and/or need to meet deadlines, and flexibility to readily adapt to a changing environment.

Salary Range: $96,000.00 To $103,000.00 per year (Salary is commensurate with experience.)
