Position Summary:
The Welder Tacker will be responsible for performing tack welding operations to temporarily secure components in place before final welding. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welding techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform precise tack welding to hold components in position for final welding, ensuring alignment and fit-up according to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to understand project requirements.
Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, grinding, and fitting parts as necessary.
Inspect and ensure the quality of tack welds, making adjustments as needed to meet quality standards.
Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring a safe working environment.
Work closely with welders, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience as a Welder Tacker or in a similar welding role.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or technical training preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail and precision in tack welding operations.
Good understanding of metal properties and welding metallurgy.
Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a welding environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks in various positions (bending, crouching, etc.).
Other: Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Conditions: This position requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and welding fumes.
