Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Avionics Software Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and verification of certified software for flight control systems, flight management systems, and other safety-critical avionics systems. This role requires expertise in embedded software development in accordance with RTCA DO-178C and a strong working knowledge of Model-Based Design tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and Simulink Test.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and verify certified software for avionics systems, ensuring compliance with RTCA DO-178C standards.
- Utilize Model-Based Design tools (MATLAB, Simulink, Simulink Test) to develop embedded software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and system architecture.
- Conduct software verification activities including testing, simulation, and analysis.
- Ensure adherence to highly-regulated standards such as DO-178C, DO-331, or similar standards.
- Hands-on experience in DO-331 standards and practices, including formal methods, is strongly required.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and other engineering activities to ensure software quality and safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in avionics software development, with a focus on flight control systems, flight management systems, or similar safety-critical systems.
- Strong understanding of RTCA DO-178C guidelines and experience in developing software in accordance with these standards.
- Proficiency in Model-Based Design tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and Simulink Test.
- Knowledge of highly-regulated standards such as DO-178C, DO-331, or similar standards is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with DO-331 standards and practices, including formal methods, is strongly required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience working in an aerospace or defense industry is a plus.
