The Personal Trainer is responsible for performing assessments, providing package prescriptions, answering fitness and wellness related questions, and helping to sell personal training packages. They should also be responsive to JCC members by helping and educating them on safe and correct use of cardio and weight training equipment. ***Must be available to train evenings and weekends***
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be professional with all members, clients, and co-workers.
- Schedule and conduct Personal Training and FIT sessions.
- Support, teach, and encourage members to meet their fitness goals.
- Help to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly fitness center space.
- Provide members and employees with knowledge of exercise principles.
- Keep fitness certifications current.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Develop relationships and encourage member referrals.
- Enforce JCC policies
- Attend fitness department and fitness training meetings.
- Assist in development and implementation of new fitness programs/classes.
- Wear JCC uniform.
- Keep an updated accurate schedule of clients
- Keep supervisors informed of their Personal Training work schedule
Qualifications
1. Available to train between Mondays - Thursdays from 3pm - 8pm, Fridays from 3pm-5pm, or weekends
2. Personal Training Certification from an accredited organization
3. 4-year college degree in a fitness related field would be an asset
4. CPR and first aid certifications
5. Operational knowledge of resistance training equipment and proper form
