The objectives of an Account Manager (BDM) is to maintain and build relationships with current and potential customers in order to meet sales targets and contribute to the overall growth and success of the sales team. This position will focus on providing exceptional customer service and gathering market intelligence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. New business (80%)
- Focus on generating new business and onboarding new customers through cold calling, networking, and customer referrals to maximise sales and constant growth by calls and emails.
- Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective customers
- Visit events to meet customers and potential new customers
- Visiting potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services
- Conducting sales research and identifying new sales opportunities, details captured in the CRM system
- Negotiating value propositions with prospective customers
2. Sales (20%)
- Visiting customers to evaluate needs or promote products and services
- Providing ongoing account support to existing customers assigned by the sales team
- Helping determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
- Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices, and availability.
- Explain and agree payment terms
- Create correct orders in the system
3. Distribution
- Notifying customers and internal stakeholders of unforeseen delivery delays or other complications, and facilitating suitable interventions
4. Payment process
- Ensure customers payment conform agreed payment terms
- Obtaining deposits and balance of payment from customers
Key Skill Knowledge and Attributes
- Proven work experience as a Sales Account Manager or 2+ years of experience with business development, sales, or account management
- Previous experience in a sales environment will be advantageous
- Ideal candidate has a passion for selling and have customer centric attitude
- Diploma in Sales & Marketing (or equivalent) (Preferred)
