Job Summary
The Substance Abuse Counselor or SAC IT practices under the supervision of the clinical supervisor. The Addiction Counselor or SAC IT is responsible for ensuring that every effort is made to assist the patient in reaching their treatment goals. The Addiction Counselor or SAC IT will coordinate and cooperate with local agencies and organizations as necessary to expedite treatment for each patient. The Addiction Counselor or SAC IT will be familiar with all aspects of clinical operations and must participate in all required trainings, staff meetings, and supervision sessions. The Counselor or SAC IT will maintain accurate and current records according to AMS policy and ensure that all requirements of Federal, State Regulations an accreditation standards are met and in full compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Addiction Counselor SAC IT will provide a minimum of 120 hours per month (or 75% of assigned work schedule) of direct counseling and case management services to patient’s. Counseling responsibilities include but are limited to individual, group, family and educational services; completing assessments, individualized treatment plans, and staffing reviews.
Qualifications and Skills
The qualified candidate will have Addiction Counseling experience with a Wisconsin License as a Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) or Substance Abuse Counselor in Training good standing. The candidate will also hold a bachelors Degree in a behavioral health related field of study.
