Job Description We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in response to the exciting growth of our company. This candidate will help troubleshoot and solve issues for existing or new technical implementations at the company. This role will also be a resource for our Helpdesk for complex issues but will also maintain a portfolio of projects to help support the needs of the business. This position will work closely with stakeholders across different business areas to ensure we deliver excellent solutions and superior internal and external customer service. The optimal candidate will possess a breadth of knowledge and experience across networking, systems, and security operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Help to maintain and improve the current network solutions to ensure efficient system operation with increasing redundancy and resilience to continuously improve uptime and smooth network operations.
- Monitor, configure and maintain existing IT systems including but not limited to, Firewall, IDS/IPS, SSO, endpoint security, MDR, email, SIEM integration, and mobile device management best practices.
- Works directly with product owners, internal stakeholders, and vendors to troubleshoot and deploy new system configurations and or updates to existing connections to ensure application reliability and security best practices.
- Refine processes to secure baseline hardening configurations of network, security, desktops, servers; including cloud-based and native applications using best practices and ensuring systems are adherent to CSI baselines.
- Help to maintain network security policies, standards, hardening best practices based on HIPAA, PCI, NIST, HITRUST, and DSS.
- Primary responsibility, with assistance from other team members, to maintain optimum security posture by leveraging vulnerability tools, analysis to identify gaps, recommend and implement optimal solutions.
- Participates in the formal incident response efforts for intrusions and exploits, and incident investigations.
- Acts as an escalation point for helpdesk events for problem resolution.
- Ability to mentor and train new team members to ensure skillsets are at an appropriate level to ensure our network and security policies and procedures are implemented effectively.
- Ability to lead and execute infrastructure projects in cloud-based or on-prem environments.
Candidate Requirements:
- Associates degree or equivalent experience in the field
- Attainment of IT certifications are a plus
- Exposure to administrative duties in cloud computing environment(s)
- Relevant security and network experience, firewall administration or other related work.
- Relevant system administration experience at the server and desktop level
- Ability to problem solve independently or within a group setting.
- Ability to efficiently use internal tools, ticket tracking system and network diagramming software.
- Must be self-motivated, team oriented and able to work in an agile, fast-paced environment with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
