I. Job Summary
Oversees and directs Facilities and Maintenance related activities, including capital projects and day to day maintenance activities, with focus on improving machine related productivity and quality in the manufacturing departments. Responsible for hiring, employee training, work assignments, performance evaluations and any necessary disciplinary action.
1. Job Duties & Responsibilities
1. Directs, assists and supervises all Maintenance department personnel with all projects, including the annual boiler shutdown, capital expenditures as well as minimizing any production downtime due to equipment failures on a day to day basis.
2. Interviews prospective job applicants to ensure the necessary headcount requirements, maintains and balances work force, establishing workloads, evaluates employee performance, oversees corrective action and discipline as necessary.
3. Identifies and ensures that employee training requirements are met as established in the plant’s ISO procedures, and that all applicable procedures are followed.
4. Ensures that established safety rules are followed by all employees, including lock out/tag out and hazardous material procedures.
5. Ensures that all plant production equipment is maintained at a level that ensures that acceptable employee safety, customer quality and delivery standards are met.
6. Maintains an active role on the plant’s Product Development and Process Improvement Pipeline Management Teams, helping to optimize existing processes. Ensures that plant resources are provided to facilitate project expediency.
7. Maintains an active role on the plant’s ISO team and ensures that all Facilities and Maintenance employees follow established procedures.
8. Ensures general plant cleanliness, and maintains assigned areas, machinery, tools and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
9. Controls departmental expenses to meet plant budgeted goals.
10. Identifies and presents machine improvement opportunities and projected costs to improve manufacturing capabilities, enabling the plant to optimize productivity and product quality within the treater department.
11. Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
III. Qualifications Required:
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering. Management and Supervisory experience preferred.
