As a Pizza Cook at Point Break Pizza & Panini, you will be responsible for creating mouthwatering pizzas that delight our customers. Your main duties in this position may include:
- Pizza Preparation: Prepare pizza dough by kneading, stretching, and shaping it into the desired size and thickness, ensuring consistency and quality in every pizza.
- Topping Application: Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough and skillfully layer toppings such as cheese, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients to create delicious combinations and ensure ample coverage.
- Pizza Cooking: Operate and monitor pizza ovens, adjusting time and temperature settings as needed to achieve the desired level of crispness and even cooking for each pizza. Keep a close eye on cooking times to avoid burning or undercooking.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all pizzas meet the established quality standards set by the restaurant through regular checks for consistency, proper topping distribution, and overall appearance.
- Collaboration with Kitchen Team: Work closely with other kitchen staff, including prep cooks and chefs, to coordinate the flow of pizza production, coordinating timing and ensuring smooth operations during busy service periods.
- Ingredient Preparation: Assist in preparing pizza ingredients, such as slicing and dicing vegetables, cooking and seasoning meats, and grating cheese.
- Menu Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with the menu offerings, becoming knowledgeable about the various pizzas, their components, and any special instructions or modifications to accommodate customer requests.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including keeping your station clean, washing utensils and equipment, and properly storing ingredients to ensure freshness and prevent cross-contamination.
- Adherence to Safety and Hygiene Standards: Follow proper food handling and safety procedures, including wearing gloves when necessary, practicing good hygiene, and regularly sanitizing work areas and utensils.
- Efficiency and Time Management: Work efficiently to handle multiple orders simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and ensuring pizzas are prepared and cooked within the expected timeframes.
- Customer Service: Maintain a friendly and positive demeanor when interacting with customers, taking their orders, answering inquiries, and accommodating special requests to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Pizza Cook or in a comparable food preparation role is a must.
- Knowledge of different pizza dough types, topping combinations, and cooking techniques.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently.
- Attention to detail to ensure pizzas are visually appealing and of consistent quality.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
