Please be advised, the current open positions are the following:
*Full Time (40 Hours Weekly)- Morning, 7:00 AM- 3:30PM
*Part Time (15-30 hours weekly)- all shifts stated above and the following:
*PRN (1 shift per pay period or 8 hours every two weeks)- all shifts stated above
Behavior Health Technician is responsible for supporting, supervising, and assisting house youth in residential treatment care. Youth consist of adolescent girls aged 10-17, with mental health needs that require more intensive in home residential interventions. Staff should promote a sense of connection to family, community, and culture. They create opportunities within the program for youth to experience the core value of independence through teaching life skills, helping with homework and facilitating group meetings. Staff will work closely with case managers, and ISP team members to ensure the youth’s permanency plan is progressing. The successful candidate will have experience working with at-risk youth in close capacity.
Principal accountability/Responsibilities:
Assist all staff in providing a safe nurturing and learning environment for children.
Child Care services for each assigned child.
Supervise children in the home during recreational activities and outings.
Provides one on one supervision to a child when safety concerns are noted for both community and the RTC.
Providing the level of supervision necessary to ensure each child’s safety and well-being, including auditory and visual awareness.
Be able to intervene for each child’s safety.
Assist children with homework and independent living activities, such as learning to cook.
When deciding how to supervise a child take into consideration;
The child’s age
Child’s individual differences and abilities
Indoor and Outdoor layout of the operation
Surrounding circumstances, hazards, and risks
Childs mental, physical, social, and emotional needs
Be aware of the child’s needs/interests and any special needs
Provide a safe environment
Cultivate developmentally appropriate independence in children through planned but flexible program activities.
Ensure daily progress notes of treatment services for the youth
Supervises no more than 5 to 1 ratio and depending on youth behaviors.
Distribute medicine to clients as needed, documenting in the medicine log.
Assist in preserving children’s culture by implementing their children’s traditions or cultural activities.
Provide receipts for all expenditures as needed.
Assist with transportation, errands, and necessary appointments for children.
Provide daily documentation noting the events during shift.
Maintain personal staff development requirements for a minimum of 30 hours annually to include First Aid/CPR and Behavior Management as set forth by Licensing.
Attend meetings and individual supervision to discuss clients, house-related and program-related issues.
Qualifications:
Must be able to read, write, and communicate with co-workers, medical personnel, and other persons necessary to care for the child’s needs.
Must be 21 years of age
Ability to be flexible.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve goals.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Licenses/certifications:CPR/BLS certification
First Aid certification
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:One-year experience working with at-risk youth.
Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to learn new programs
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be compassionate and firm and always maintain confidentiality.
Success at managing a wide array of tasks and projects and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent organization and planning skills.
Ability to solve problems, make decisions, resolve conflicts, and listen.
Ability to deal calmly in crisis situations.
Knowledge of community resources.
Other Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation, valid Texas driver’s license, and valid vehicle insurance.
The position requires driving in a personal vehicle and/or an agency vehicle to include freeways and highways to satellite offices, offsite meetings, and events as needed.
Must be able to work on a flexible schedule as needed to meet work, program, and project deadlines.
Pass Background Check, TB Test, and Submit to Random Drug Testing
Equipment Used:Desktop computer, laptop computer, telephone, calculator, fax machine, and/or copier.
Physical Requirements:The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
