The Parks Department is responding to the growing needs of the City. The fast-paced nature of our municipality drives innovation and efficiency. We are currently hiring for a Maintenance Technician – Parks.

Each interaction the public has with our Parks and Recreation facilities is shaped by the physical condition of the spaces and grounds. The Maintenance Technician - Parks position performs skilled manual work and specialized equipment operation in the construction, maintenance, and repair of parks facilities and grounds.
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position and may be required to work weekends and additional hours depending on seasonal demand and vacation coverage. Will respond to emergency call-out situations as necessary.
Education and Experience

Any combination equivalent to high school diploma or equivalency and one (1) year grounds, landscape or sport field repair, maintenance, and construction experience. Municipal experience preferred. Working with the public desired.
Licenses and Certificates

Valid Washington State Driver's License and a driving record that meets City standards.

If you are a CDL holder, a pre-employment CDL query must be completed by the employer as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
Offers of employment are conditional based on the candidate successfully passing both background and reference checks. Internal candidates are subject to passing a new background if the previous check was conducted more than six months ago.
Additionally, new hires relocating to the area are required to have Washington State residency within 30 days of their start date to comply payroll tax purposes.
