We are looking for a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our team at Smuggler’s at North Shore, located on Hess Lake! The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, including pizza, in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. The ideal candidate should have a strong culinary background, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and specifications, ensuring adherence to quality and presentation standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment, including but not limited to, wood-fired pizza oven, stovetops, grills, fryers, and other cooking appliances.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, portioning meats, assembling and organizing line for efficient and accurate production.
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient execution of food orders.
- Monitor food levels and communicate with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager to restock as needed.
- Ensure proper rotation and storage of ingredients to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and refine recipes, menu items, and cooking techniques.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with all staff members while working in a high-pressure environment.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining the kitchen area, including equipment, surfaces, and storage spaces.
- Follow instructions and meet all designated shift responsibilities as assigned by the kitchen management team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or similar role in a restaurant or foodservice establishment.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, culinary terminology, and kitchen equipment.
- Experience with pizzas in a high-volume setting is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in preparing a variety of dishes in a high-volume setting.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
