Our firm services over two hundred small business owners and high net worth individuals across multiple advisory services offering accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax plan strategy implementation, business valuations, and Chief Financial Officer services. What You'll Do:
- Review monthly client financial statements for all staff accountants for technical accuracy.
- Perform bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll services as needed for multiple complex clients or clients in transition.
- Support the accounting staff, respond to questions, decipher issues/questions, train staff on proper cash and accrual basis accounting (GAAP experience a plus).
- Analyze and manage client profitability. Report feedback to company CEO.
- Research and continue education in all areas of accounting and technology used internally and by clients.
- Identify and accurately create and correct all aspects of the Balance Sheet and income statements.
- Optimize and organize the chart of accounts for different business models.
- Record and report complex payroll activity via journal entries, including pre- and post-tax benefits, insurances, garnishments, etc.
- Support on-boarding of new clients to ensure adequate support to the primary bookkeeper.
- Have experience in complex QBO clean-up, and not only understand accounting, but also understand how QBO software reacts.
- Create forecasts and budgets in excel from quickbooks financials, and be able to decipher and analyze client KPI's.
- Co-lead staff meetings and trainings. Help staff accountants to understand and achieve their company KPI's.
- Support other areas of the company such as Sales, Operations and Systems, Workflows, HR and Admin as needed to continue to develop infrastructures of the company. We are growing FAST. Our average annual growth rate is over 158% for the past 5 years!
What You Need to Get the Job Done:
- 5+ years of working with complex accounting and bookkeeping
- Bachelor's Degree or higher (accounting field preferred)
- An extensive understanding of financial reporting for reviewing and for correcting possible errors
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in QuickBooks Online with experience in other cloud accounting apps, such as Bill.com, Gusto, and Melio preferred.
- QBO ProAdvisor certified is a plus
- GAAP accounting experience a plus
- Strong problem solving and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks, and deliver results in a dynamic work environment with the desire for continuous improvement
- Advanced Excel skills
- Google Sheets experience is a plus
- Willingness and ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly
- Maintain an ego-free environment to help focus on solving the problem and developing solutions that will work for the long term
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once, while meeting or exceeding tight deadlines.
- Valid CPA license is a plus
