Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (in no particular order); other duties may be assigned.

Following company-created checklists to inspect and test vehicles.

Performing standard mechanical repairs, such as changing brake pads.

Learning repair techniques under the supervision of an experienced mechanic.

Testing vehicles before and after repair procedures.

Maintaining the workshop and keeping immediate work areas well-organized.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

13 week Fleet Mechanic Apprentice Training Program.

Successful completion of training program results in a promotion to C Technician and increase in hourly wage.

Full-time Monday-Friday schedule of 6AM to 2:30PM

Competitive wage during training program is $23.00 per hour.

Accrual of paid time off up to 80 hours per year with increase in accrual amount each year starting with 2nd year anniversary and maximizing out at 5 years.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED. A completed certificate or diploma in auto or diesel mechanics would be advantageous however, willingness to attend trade school courses to bolster knowledge in both gas and diesel mechanics is required.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver's license for Oregon or Washington required with ability to operate both manual and automatic vehicles.
