Job Description:
Identifies the materials requirements and directs the planning, storage, control and distribution of goods in the production environment. Closely works in association with the purchasing department, production department and the vendors to analyze material requirements to meet company strategic objectives and to maintain an active supply chain throughout the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES:
- Develop, implement, and manage a cross functional, fully integrated planning process that incorporates planning, scheduling, inventory, material, and forecasting.
- Reviews production requirements and engineering design specifications for raw material or purchased parts ordering and budget process.
- Monitors on time delivery and quantities delivered from suppliers in accordance with sourcing guidelines set by JBPCO procurement teams.
- Manages inbound domestic and international logistics of materials to cost and quality targets.
- Oversees the inventory available and manages to KPI’s set by the leadership team.
- Identifies the reasons for material variances by collecting information from the production department.
- Identifies the emergency requirements of the materials and arranges supplies for the same
- Participates in meetings, as necessary, with finance department to clarify details of materials costs, variances, shortages etc.
- Provides or establishes training programs for team members in need of improved skill sets.
- Maintains relationships with suppliers to manage to delivery timing and quantities of materials.
- Reports material strategies, issues, and constraints to the leadership team.
- Supports and participates in Morgan Olson’s PPS team efforts.
- Adheres to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer focused and supporting continuous improvement activities.
- Adheres to Safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Logistics, Material Management or Supply Chain Management preferred. Or related field plus 5-7 years minimum materials management/Industry certification in Supply Chain/Inventory Management.
- Should have good negotiating, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Skillful in planning and analyzing the requirements of the production department.
- Well-versed with the traditional as well as advanced methods used in inventory control.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Applications, BI and ERP systems.
- Proficient understanding of Multi-level BOM’s.
