Mass Appeal is seeking a Managing Editor to spearhead the creation of a branded publication. Working closely with the account team and collaborating closely with all departments, spearheads editorial planning, content creation, and production processes for a branded publication. Responsibilities include creative development, editing, and ensuring timely delivery of diverse content and projects. Candidates with a background in or a strong relationship with Queens, NY are highly desirable, as they bring a unique understanding of the community to the role."
Job Responsibilities:
- Content Planning: Collaborating with writers, editors, and other stakeholders to plan and develop editorial content, including articles, features, and other materials.
- Editing: Reviewing and editing content for accuracy, clarity, coherence, style, and adherence to the publication's guidelines and standards.
- Workflow Management: Coordinating the workflow of the editorial team, setting deadlines, and ensuring that content is produced on time.
- Quality Control: Ensuring the overall quality of content, including fact-checking, proofreading, and verifying sources.
- Team Management: Hiring, training, and supervising editorial staff, as well as providing guidance and feedback to help them improve their work.
- Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Managing the editorial budget, allocating resources effectively, and optimizing processes to maximize efficiency.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as design, production, and marketing, to coordinate efforts and achieve organizational goals.

Duration: 6-8 weeks
Rate: $3K/week
