Arizona Opera seeks a highly motivated individual to join our team as Stage Manager for the 2024/25 Season. This position reports to the Director of Production and supervises the Assistant Stage Manager(s). Arizona Opera is one of the few opera companies in the United States that performs in more than one city and venue. Rehearsals, tech and the opening performance take place in Phoenix. Following the Phoenix performances, the production travels to Tucson, Arizona where it will receive its closing performance.
This position is responsible for the success of all rehearsals and show operations for the productions. Typical duties include creation of all the necessary and standard production paperwork, scheduling of rehearsals, communication with departments and liaising with the director and conductor to help fulfill the needs of the production. The ideal candidate should see themselves as a team player who is flexible, accommodating, with high standards for the production.
This position has traditionally been a ‘W-2’ full-time, term specific, exempt, salaried position paid semi-monthly as part of our regular employee pay structure. We are open to other terms of employment for the right candidate.
This position qualifies for paid sick leave as described in the employee handbook but is not eligible for medical or life insurance.
The ideal candidate will also aid in the selection of the Assistant Stage Management team.

- Performances: April 12 & 13 in Phoenix, April 19 in Tucson.
