We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive technical proficiency in DNS, Active Directory (AD), and DHCP systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading technical teams and implementing strategic plans in complex IT environments.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by stabilizing critical IT systems and shaping the future direction of the organization's infrastructure.
This is a 100% remote opportunity. This is a 2-month engagement initially, with the potential for extension based on project requirements and performance. Candidate should be available to work in Pacific time zone.
Role and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot existing DNS/AD/DHCP issues: The primary focus of the initial engagement will be to diagnose and resolve any existing issues within the DNS and DHCP infrastructure. This will involve in-depth analysis, root cause identification, and implementation of corrective measures to ensure stability and reliability.
Lead a "tiger team" in stabilizing AD/DNS: Take charge of a specialized team dedicated to addressing the identified issues within the Active Directory and DNS systems. Coordinate efforts, delegate tasks, and provide guidance to ensure efficient problem resolution within the stipulated time frame.
Develop a strategic plan for AD/DNS replacement: Collaborate with stakeholders to formulate a comprehensive strategy for replacing the existing Microsoft-based infrastructure with alternative solutions. This involves conducting thorough assessments, evaluating potential options, and outlining a roadmap for migration or transformation.
Provide expert guidance and recommendations: Offer expert advice and recommendations to the organization's leadership based on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and the specific requirements of the business. Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner to stakeholders at all levels.
Document processes and procedures: Create detailed documentation of troubleshooting processes, resolutions, and strategic plans for future reference. Ensure that all documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Deep expertise in DNS, Active Directory, and DHCP systems, with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level infrastructure
Proven leadership skills, with experience in leading technical teams and driving initiatives to successful completion within defined timelines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to quickly diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in developing strategic plans for IT infrastructure projects, including migration, upgrade, or replacement initiatives.
Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CISSP) and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
