THE FUNCTION
As a Purchasing Specialist, you support the purchasing of the Americas team. This includes:
· Manage the end-to-end procurement process for both Capex and Opex projects.
· Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
· Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure the best value.
· Utilize SAP for creating and managing purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and approvals.
· Ensure all procurement activities are accurately recorded and tracked in SAP.
· Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring compliance with financial targets.
· Coordinates with global procurement teams in the purchase and supply chain of chemicals and raw materials.
· Prepare cost analyses and reports to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
· Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
· Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
· Ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and service standards.
In this role you report directly to the Plant Manager and functionally to the Corporate Purchase Manager.
WANTED PROFILE
You are passionate and have a background in procurement. To be successful in this role you will need:
● Bachelor’s degree or related work experience considered in lieu
● 5-10 years’ experience with procurement in a chemical manufacturing environment
● Proven experience managing technical and service related CapEx and OpEx projects
● Proficient in Microsoft Office products
● Strong experience with SAP (ECC or S/4 Hana) including purchase requisitions, purchase orders and matrix approval workflows
● Certified Professional in Supply Management a plus
